DEC to Host Inclusive, Adaptive, Family-Friendly, Learn-to-Fish Event at Birdseye Hollow State Forest
July 13, Birdseye Hollow Pond, Public Invited
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Rochester Accessible Adventures (leaves DEC's website) invites the public to attend a family-friendly introduction to accessible fishing at the Birdseye Hollow Pond, Town of Bradford, Steuben County, in the Birdseye Hollow State Forest .
While the main focus is accessible fishing, everyone is welcome to join and learn to fish. Participants may bring their own fishing gear or use DEC's event gear for the day.
Fishing is a well-established pastime around the globe and has no boundaries. For that reason, many fishing gear manufacturers have designed adaptive equipment. DEC staff and volunteers will be on hand to help users test adaptive equipment during this free fishing event.
