Statement from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on National Grid's Withdrawal of the Air State Facility Permit Application for Greenpoint Energy Center
National Grid failed to justify the need for its proposed fossil fuel infrastructure project at the Greenpoint facility. Any future application by National Grid will go through the same rigorous review with enhanced public participation consistent with Commissioner's Policy 29 and DEC's policies and regulations, including justifying compliance with the stringent emissions requirements in the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
