We applaud the Biden Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for their proposal yesterday to implement stronger emissions reduction standards for heavy-duty vehicles. The proposed new federal greenhouse gas standards align with Governor Hochul's New Era for New York agenda and New York's Climate Act, which represent the most ambitious and comprehensive climate and clean energy strategy in the nation. With this significant market signal to manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles, New York State is better positioned to implement measures necessary to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the health and resilience of communities across the State. This announcement by the Biden Administration further underscores the opportunities for residents and communities alike to partner with businesses, schools, and government to create a green economy and build a more sustainable future.
