DEC Announces Road Closures to Expedite Storm Repairs

Roads in Black River Wild Forest, Herkimer County Being Repaired

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced the temporary closure of two roads in the Black River Wild Forest, Herkimer County, to expedite storm repairs.

DEC operations crews are fixing the gravel sections that washed away during Thursday's rainstorm. Cones will be used to block the roads this weekend to allow for the gravel to settle properly. Repairs are expected to be completed next week.

The public is advised not to use Wolf Lake Landing between Otter Lake and Thendara, and to avoid Mill Creek Road in Woodgate until the cones are removed.
