Statement from New York State DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos
At a time when our nation is struggling to fight the largest public health crisis of our lifetime, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is discounting the value of public health by rolling back rules and regulations that protect public health and the environment. I applaud Attorney General James for filing this complaint on behalf of New Yorkers today. We will continue to fight this and other efforts by EPA that disregard science in order to serve the interests of polluters. Thanks to Governor Cuomo, New York is leading the nation in the fight for the environment and public health. A strong federal partner would further ensure that both our natural resources and our communities are fully protected for future generations.
