Within DEC Eagle Point Campground- Off Route 9, 2 miles north of the Hamlet of Pottersville. This is a hard surface ramp. There is a day use fee charged during peak season. This access is available only when the campground is operating. Parking for 4 cars.

Horicon- Off Route 9, just north of Pottersville, on County Route 62. This is a hard surface ramp and has parking for 45 cars and trailers. This site is accessible for persons with disabilities.

Schroon Lake- Located off Dock Street in the town of Schroon Lake. This is a hard surface ramp and has parking for 15 cars and trailers.

Fish Species:

Lake Trout, Landlocked Salmon, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Rainbow Smelt, Northern Pike, Black Crappie, Brown Bullhead, Rock Bass, Pumpkinseed and Yellow Perch.


Schroon Lake supports a diverse fishery which is stocked annually with lake trout and landlocked salmon. This helps support excellent salmon and lake trout fishing which is very popular among ice fishermen. The lake also provides excellent angling opportunities for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, northern pike and yellow perch.

Ice Fishing:

Ice fishing is permitted.
