Aquatic Plant Life:

Rooted aquatic vegetation limited to shoreline.

Access:

DEC Boat Launch: South of Thompson's Lake State Park off NY Route 157, 0.3 miles north of NY Route 157A and Beaver Dam Road. Beach launch. 15 hp limit. 5 cars and trailers. Day use fee in season.

Fish Species:

Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Chain Pickerel, Common Carp, Golden Shiner, Bluntnose Minnow, White Sucker, Brown Bullhead, Banded Killifish, Rock Bass, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Tessellated Darter, Yellow Perch

Fishing:

The lake is a popular all year destination in the capital region for panfish and trout. Some decent catches have been reported.

The lake is stocked each spring with approximately 1,500-2,000 rainbow trout and 500-750 brown trout, ranging from 8.5 - 9.5 inches.

Ice Fishing:

Permitted.
