East Caroga Lake

East Caroga Lake is located in the Town of Caroga, Fulton County. The lake provides excellent warm water fishing and rainbow trout fishing.

Mean Depth: 13 Feet

Access:

For access to the lake, boaters can use the state campground which is located off of Route 29A, 9 miles northwest of City of Gloversville. This campground has a beach launch and parking for 15 cars and trailers.

Fish Species:

Smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, yellow perch, pumpkinseed and rainbow trout.

Fishing:

This lake provides fishermen a chance to catch this beautiful trout along with the possibility of catching a warm water game fish. Trolling flashy artificials in the evening offers a good chance to catch these fish.

Ice Fishing:

Ice fishing is permitted on East Caroga Lake.

Fisheries Management:

Each year the lake is stocked with approximately 1,200 rainbow trout. This stocking helps to keep the fishery strong and successful for everyone to enjoy.
