White Lake

White Lake is stocked every spring with 4,000 brown trout and 1,600 lake trout.

Area: 280 acres
Shoreline Length: 4.3 miles
Max Depth: 85 feet
Mean Depth: 8.9 feet
County & Town: Sullivan County, Town of Bethel

Access:

DEC hard surface boat launch off Route 17B, west of the City of Monticello, Town of Bethel, 1 mile north on White Lake Road (County Route 55) in the Hamlet of White Lake. Parking for 24 cars and trailers. View the White Lake Contour Map (PDF).

Fish Species:

Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, and Panfish.

Fishing:

Anglers have success catching trout trolling spoons and plugs. White Lake also has a good bass population. Largemouth bass can be found around weed beds fished with spinnerbaits and plastic worms. Smallmouth bass bass like to hang out around rock piles and will bite crankbaits and tube jigs.
