Boat Launch Sites for Essex County

For an explanation of the recreational icons on this page, see below.

Attention Boaters and Anglers

Spiny water flea, an invasive zooplankton species, has been confirmed in Lake Champlain and Lake George. Please help us prevent further spread of this species in the Adirondacks by:

  1. Completely drying fishing equipment and all water-holding compartments of your boat.
  2. Decontaminating fishing equipment and all water-holding compartments with hot water (at least 140° F).

If drying or decontaminating are not possible, thoroughly flush your boat and equipment with water free of water fleas in an area that will not drain into the waterbody you will be boating on.

Attention Lake George Boaters and Anglers: Regulations require the registration of all watercraft via day use or seasonal permit. All trailered boats must also be certified free of aquatic invasive species. Contact the Lake George Park Commission at (518) 668-9347 or visit Lake George Park Commission's website (link leaves DEC's website.)
