Take in the spectacular 360 degree, 100-mile view from the 2,030-foot summit of Prospect Mountain. A beautiful 5.5 mile, two-lane highway leads to parking lots at each of the three vistas along the highway - The Narrows, Lake George, and the Eagle's Nest. There are beautiful views of Vermont's Green Mountains, New Hampshire's White Mountains, New York's Adirondack High Peaks and on a very clear day, the Laurentian Mountains of Canada. From the parking lot, take the shuttle or walk to the summit for more breath-taking views.

Drive time is approximately ten minutes from entry booth to the parking lot, plus and time spent at the overlooks. A self-guided nature trail, the remains of the world's largest cable railroad, and picnic facilities can also be enjoyed by visitors. A 1.5-mile hiking trail ascends 1.630 feet from the village of Lake George to the summit of the mountain.

Scenic views are available from the summit or at one of the three overlooks along the highway - the Narrows, Lake George, and the Eagle's Eye. Viewscopes are available for even better views.



BBQ grills and picnic tables are available near the summit. A picnic pavilion is available for rent.



Prospect Mountain Trail extends 1.5 miles and climbs 1,630 feet from the trailhead in the village of Lake George along Smith Street.

A trail from the parking lot extends 0.2 miles and ascends 155 feet to the summit providing a much shorter hike.
