Support DEC Campgrounds & Day Use Areas

Members of the public can support DEC lands, facilities, and programs through our charitable partner, the National Heritage trust (NHT). Online giving is simple and secure and fully tax-deductible. Donations to NHT directly support projects and programs that enhance facilities, expand access to outdoor recreation and environmental education, provide public land access, and protect natural resources. Donate here (leaves DEC website).

This popular swimming area is located on the southern shore of Lake George. Also known as "Million Dollar Beach", it is within walking distance of the village of Lake George and DEC's Lake George Battleground Campground and Lake George Battlefield Day Use Area.

The entrance road and parking lots are paved with porous asphalt and modern stormwater management infrastructure to protect Lake George's water quality by decreasing the amount of sedimentation, and the pollutants attached to them, from entering the lake. The porous asphalt requires less salt and sand to keep the road safe during winter weather and significantly decreases the frequency and depth of flooding of the road and parking lots.
