Project Description:

The NYSDEC has received and is accepting comments on an application to stabilize 350 linear feet of a tributary stream to Bear Lake to prevent sedimentation to Bear Lake. Project activities include 350 linear feet of heavy rock rip-rap, an engineered rock riffle and plantings to create a riparian buffer. The project will exclude cattle from the stream except to allow crossing at the engineered rock riffle which will also be gated to control cattle access to the stream. The project site is located at the facility address above and on an adjacent parcel owned by the applicant which fronts Bachelor Hill Road.

The Department has prepared a draft permit and has made a tentative determination, subject to public comment or other information, to approve an existing discharge of up to 2,300 gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater to a tributary of Cazenovia Creek, a Class C waterbody, from a treatment system servicing a restaurant at the facility address. Treatment consists of settling, sand filtration, and chlorination.

Project Description:

The Department has received an application for temporary impacts to 0.08 acre of regulated adjacent area (AA) of NYS freshwater wetland (FWW) WO-20 associated with the installation of approximately 3,800 linear feet of 2-inch plastic pipeline along Cedar Road in existing utility and roadway rights-of-way. All stream and wetland crossings associated with this project will be accomplished via horizontal directional drilling, however nine bore pit work areas will be located partially or wholly with the AA of FWW WO-20. This new pipeline will tie in to National Fuel's existing distribution network and will allow for natural gas distribution to new customers and households currently using other fuel sources such as propane, fuel oil and wood. The Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
