Negative Declaration

New York County (Manhattan) - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park Ball Field and Track Rehabilitation will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves track and turf replacement that will be steps towards the overall vision of renewing the park. These projects will allow continued public use of the park's extremely popular facilities as well as provide overall upgrades in energy efficiency and overall accessibility. The sports field was replaced 10 ± years ago and has met its lifespan, resulting in tripping hazards and portions of the field to be taken offline. The proposed project would replace the field and track entirely. The project would also address utility issues and code upgrades to irrigation, electric and water as well as structural and expansion joint repairs to the upper deck. The project includes rehabilitation work inside existing NYS OPRHP buildings. The project is located at 679 Riverside Drive in Manhattan, New York.
