Project Description:

The applicant proposes reauthorization of a lapsed permit for the existing discharge of boiler blowdown water to storm sewer to Tenmile River, Class C(t) from Outfall 002 at the applicant's facility main facility located at 26 Center Circle, and the existing discharge to groundwater of sanitary waste from Outfall 003 at the Spruce Cottage at 66 Sinpatch Road, Wassaic, NY.

The facility includes the utilities area for the Wassaic Developmental Center campus that in in closure. The campus includes a boiler house to supply heat to remaining open buildings. Outfall 001 has been discontinued, with remaining sanitary waste being held and hauled.

Requests for a legislative (public statement) hearing must be sent in writing to the DEC contact person below by the comment deadline. The Department assesses such requests pursuant to 6 NYCRR Section 621.8.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
