Schuyler County - The Village of Watkins Glen, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Zoning Law Update will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a comprehensive update to the Village of Watkins Glen Zoning Law and Map. The existing law is outdated and cumbersome to implement. The purpose of this update is to ensure that the zoning law not only reflects the current vision and values of the Village, but also serves as an efficient, effective tool for implementation and enforcement. Local land use regulations were reviewed and updated for consistency with the Village's adopted plans and studies as well as New York State Village Law. Adjustments were made to zoning district and use regulations, development standards, and review procedures. Map amendments were also made to better align zoning districts with the Village's existing and desired future development pattern. In summary, the adoption of this updated zoning law will have a positive impact on the Village, its facilities, and its environment. The project is located throughout the Village of Watkins Glen, New York.
