Project Description:

As part of the Regional Dredging Management Plan component of the Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI), the applicant proposes to dredge the Sandy Creek harbor, approximately 0.64 acres, to a depth of + 236.3 feet, IGLD85 (-7.0 feet, LWD). This will result in the removal of approximately 3,800 CY of material. With the 1-foot allowable overdredge and allowance for removal of material that sloughs off the side slopes during dredging, up to 5,700 CY of material will be removed from the outlet for this project. All dredged material will be placed in a 5.68-acre littoral zone placement area in Lake Ontario, approximately 1,750 linear feet north of the shoreline at the harbor at elevations not to exceed +230.0 feet, IGLD85 (-13.3 feet, LWD). The project area is located the Town of Hamlin, Monroe County, New York.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Office of General Services

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Evaluation using a Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form or other information has concluded that the proposed activity will not impact registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jul 29, 2021.
