Project Description:

Removal of woody debris from the West Canada Creek at property identified as 585 Partridge Hill Road in the Town of Russia, Herkimer County. Removal of a stump and woody debris from the center of the channel will result in 150-linear feet of stream bed disturbance due to dragging the debris across the bed. Total amount of material to be excavated from below the mean high-water mark of West Canada Creek is 7.4 cubic yards.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to rehabilitate an eroding bank on Fish Creek. The eroding bank is located on old Route 49, 1000 feet south of the State Route 49 intersection. Rehabilitation will include the placement of heavy stone fill on top of non-woven geotextile. The heavy stone fill will be keyed into the stream bed at the toe and keyed into the stream bank at the upstream end of the project. Excavation below ordinary high water includes 520 cubic yards of material. Fill below ordinary high water includes 740 cubic yards of material. disturbance to Fish creek is 225 linear feet. A combination of silt fence and turbidity curtains will be placed around any excavation areas to keep the excavation and stream separated.
