Tree Removal for Devil's Kitchen Lean-to Replacement

The action involves cutting and removal of 25 trees three inches or larger in diameter at breast height (DBH) to facilitate the relocation and replacement of the Devil's Kitchen lean-to. Trees will be cut to create a safe drop zone and lean-to site. Materials for the replacement of a nearby foot bridge will be brought in with the lean-to materials. This project will be completed through an approved work plan and is identified in the approved 1992 Indian Head-Plateau Mountain Wilderness Unit Management Plan. Tree cutting will be in compliance with Lands and Forests Policy # 91-2 on Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees and Other Vegetation on Forest Preserve Lands.

The project is located in the Indian Head Wilderness in the Town of Hunter, Greene County, New York.

Negative Declaration

Montgomery County - The Town of Mohawk Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Yellow 12 LLC - Cipriani Solar will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of an approximately 1.9 megawatt (MW) solar project. It involves the installation of ground mounted fixed title photovoltaic panels on approximately 7.92 acres of land on a 13.5 acre parcel of active agricultural crop fields, fallow agricultural fields, and deciduous forest. The project is located off Van Antwerp Road in the Town of Mohawk, New York.
