Negative Declaration

Monroe County - The City of Rochester, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed REDI Grants - East Side will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves shoreline improvements along approximately 975 foot of the Genesee River's east bank, improvements to the Summerville Wastewater Pumping Station (WWPS) and modifications to the Public Storm Sewer System. This project will increase resiliency within the project area by reducing flooding, riverbank erosion, and property damage caused by high-water events. The project is located on the east bank of Genesee River at terminus of St. Paul Street in the City of Rochester, New York.

Monroe County - The City of Rochester, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed REDI Grants - West Side will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the installation of shoreline improvements along approximately 2,800 foot of the Genesee River's west bank, including the extension of existing shoreline stabilization methods and modifications to existing docks. Two pump stations will also be installed to convey stormwater to the Genesee River. This proposed effort will increase resiliency within the project area by reducing flooding potential, riverbank erosion, and property damage caused by high-water events. The project is located on the west bank of Genesee River north of Petten Street in the City of Rochester, New York.

Wayne County - The Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Blind Sodus Bay REDI Project: West Bluff will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the protection of 920 linear foot of the western barrier bar of Blind Sodus Bay from continued erosion from precipitation, wind and high water level under cutting. This area has a 30 linear foot bluff area along 12 properties and Town infrastructure (sewer main), 6 utility poles, a public and private roadway. The Bluff Area is located west of the barrier bar and extends for approximately 920 linear feet of shoreline. A private homeowner installed approximately 175 linear foot of shoreline protection at the northern terminus of the Bluff Area that is failing and will be repaired as part of the project. Shoreline protection consists of a concrete cap, drilled steel pipe piles filled with concrete extending up 8 to 10 foot above the concrete cap, timber cribbing behind the steel pipe piles, and gabion baskets Wave and freeze action have continually eroded the toe of the bluff causing sloughing and encroachment onto properties and structures; several properties have structures that are undermined from erosion. The sloughed material is at the base of the bluff and is referred to herein as the slope. The project is located in Blind Sodus Bay in the Town of Wolcott, New York.
