Notice of Availability of a Revised Draft Scope

Suffolk County - The Town of Smithtown Town Board, as lead agency, has made the Draft Scope for the proposed 2020 Comprehensive Plan available. The Draft Scope is available from contact listed below and on line at: www.smithtownny.gov. Written comments on the Revised Draft Scope are requested and will be accepted by the lead agency until July 9, 2021.

The action involves the adoption of the Town of Smithtown 2020 Comprehensive Plan. The project is located throughout the Town of Smithtown, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Nassau County - The Village of Muttontown Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Silver Path Estates 20 Lot Residential Subdivision. The Final EIS is available from the Muttontown Village Hall, One Raz Tafuro Way, Muttontown, NY; the Syosset Library 225 South Oyster Bay Road, Syosset, NY and on line at: www.muttontownny.gov/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/FEIS-Silver-Path-Estates_Accepted-6_08_2021.pdf.

The action involves the subdivision of a former 98.92 acre estate containing several buildings, structures, woodlands, areas of steep and very steep slopes, freshwater wetlands, and bridle paths in the Village of Muttontown's Residence E-3 zoning district. The subdivision will include 20 single-family residential lots ranging in net lot size from 3.00 to 5.38 acres, with access proposed via a new subdivision road (Hall Drive) located off Muttontown Road, 161 ± foot east of the intersection of Woodhollow Court and Muttontown Road. The access will be stop controlled at Muttontown Road. Additionally, the subdivision design includes two stormwater recharge basins, a 50 foot-wide perimeter buffer that contains a 30 foot-wide 1.8 ± mile long park containing a bridle trail that connects to the nearby Muttontown Preserve; 100 foot wide vegetated buffers around existing on-site and adjacent freshwater wetlands and a small on-site cemetery associated with the original residence; and protection of various areas of steep and very steep slopes and an existing salvageable onsite cottage (Pond Cottage) that is associated with the former estate and is considered to have historic value. The project is located on Muttontown Road in the Village of Muttontown, New York.
