Project Description:
The applicant proposes to rehabilitate an existing railroad bed in the regulated adjacent area of NYS Freshwater Wetland MM-19. Approximately 3500 feet of rail bed will be re-graded and new rails will be installed. The project will extend westward from Dropp Rd. in the Town of Columbia. Additional work will include an 8 foot by 30 foot passenger platform at Dropp Rd., a 16 foot steel bridge, and a 3 foot by 12 foot passenger landing at the bridge. Approximately 100 cubic yards of material will be removed during the scraping process.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

This is a reissuance of an existing permit dating to the mid-1990's and no changes are proposed. The permit authorizes removal of accumulated gravel from a 150 linear foot section of Steele Creek at the Main St Bridge. Excess gravel from the bar may be removed to a depth no lower than six (6) inches above the water level of the stream at the time of work.

Project Description:
Targeted herbicide treatment of Eurasian milfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum), an identified invasive species in the state of New York, and curlyleaf pondweed (Potamogeton crispus) in Pleasant Lake, Town of Champion, Jefferson County. The invasive species will be treated by applying the granular aquatic herbicide Harpoon via a Vortex air blower and ProcellaCor EC by drop tubes. Approximately 40,000 square feet of New York State mapped freshwater wetland C-6 and 5,000 feet of shoreline on the north and south shores of the lake will be treated.
