Project Description:

Applicant proposes to reconstruct a bulkhead along a man-made bulkheaded canal, closing off a 37' x 22' natural bottom boat slip resulting in the filling of 814 square feet of tidal wetlands area known as littoral zone. Approximately 163 cubic yards of fill is required to fill in the boat slip that will be sourced from maintenance dredging in front of the existing bulkhead, with the remainder coming from an upland source. The installation of a platform, ramp and float is also proposed. The project is located at 171 Biltmore Boulevard, Massapequa, Nassau County, NCTM# 65-98-1271.

Project Description:

The Suffolk County Department of Public Works, Division of Vector Control has applied for a new NYSDEC Article 24 Freshwater Wetlands permit to continue to apply larvicides as part of their overall mosquito management program. Application of larvicides throughout Suffolk County for mosquito control is one aspect of an overall program including prevention, surveillance, public education, water management and adulticiding. This authority to apply larvicides will be exercised in accordance with the Suffolk County Vector Control & Wetlands Management Long Term Plan and the NYSDEC Article 24 Freshwater Wetland permit.
