Negative Declaration

Tompkins County - The Town of Dryden Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Consolidated Sewer District Infrastructure Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a capital improvement project to the Town of Dryden's existing, aging sanitary sewer infrastructure for the purpose of reducing inflow and infiltration (I&I) and restoring system capacity that can become available to planned development within the Town's Sewer Benefit District SS8 (Consolidated Sewer District). Improvements involve upgrading the Varna pump station and emergency generator, replacement of approx. 3,400 linear foot of 8 inch sanitary force main, rehab of 9,000 linear foot of 8 inch and 2,500 linear foot of 10 inch sanitary sewer mains and rehabilitation or replacement of approximately 60 manholes. Additionally, possible installation of approximately 1,200 linear foot of new 8 inch sanitary sewer main to construct a diversion to reduce loading on the existing system. In lieu of the diversion, possible up-sizing and replacement of approximately 3,700 linear foot of sanitary main from 8 inch to 12 inch along the south side of Dryden Road from Forest Home Drive to approximately 900 foot east of Freese Road. The project is located in the Hamlet of Varna, New York.
