Negative Declaration

Cayuga County - The Town of Ira, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Adoption of the Town of Ira Zoning Ordinance will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The Town of Ira adopted a Comprehensive Plan in 2017 and an Agriculture & Farmland Protection Plan (AFPP) in 2014, and as such has prepared an updated Zoning Ordinance to replace the existing Zoning Ordinance that is no longer in full compliance with either the Comprehensive Plan or the AFPP.

Purpose statement from the new Zoning Ordinance: Such Ordinance is made to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the community, and to lessen congestion in the streets, to secure safety from fire, flood, panic and other dangers, to provide adequate light and air, to prevent the overcrowding of land, to avoid concentration of population, to facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewage, schools, parks and other public requirements, under and pursuant to Article 16 of the Town Law of the State of New York, the size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of a lot that may be occupied, the size of yards, the density of populations, and the use of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, residence or other purposes are hereby restricted and regulated as hereinafter provided. The project is located throughout the Town of Ira, New York.

Cayuga County - The Town of Niles, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wireless Telecommunications Law will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of Local Law #1 of 2021 entitled "Local Law Governing Wireless Telecommunications in the Town of Niles," establishing standards for the siting of wireless telecommunications towers and antennas in the Town of Niles. The project is located throughout the Town of Niles, New York.
