Project Description:

The Town of Chesterfield proposes, and the Department has made a tentative determination to approve, a new water withdrawal permit that authorizes up to 906,400 gallons per day (gpd) from the proposed well PW-1, Butternut Pond, and Lake Champlain, combined. The new groundwater supply is intended to serve the existing customers. The project is intended to comply with a USEPA Administrative Order and NYSDOH Tribunal Order. This project was also reviewed by the Adirondack Park Agency (APA #2020-0022).

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Evaluation using a Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form or other information has concluded that the proposed activity will not impact registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than May 06, 2021.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes a new docking facility utilizing floating dock systems which would allow for the docking of 28 boats. The property previously had docks installed, which have been removed. The new facility would have a total perimeter of 2,484 square feet. In order to help mitigate increased boat traffic, the applicant also proposes to install 3 informational buoys stating "no wake" within 100' of shore.
