Project Description:
The applicant proposes to operate a 10.5 are life-of-mine bluestone mine which will entail drilling, blasting, sawing, and hammering. Processing and cutting water will be completely closed looped. Concurrent reclamation will return the area to meadow and grassland. The project is located on the southwest side of Gee Brook Road approximately 1.75 miles north of the Houck Mountain Road intersection, in the Town of Hancock, Delaware County.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Apr 30, 2021.

Project Description:
Under the Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS) A State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit renewal has been drafted for the Hunter (T) Landfill Leachate Treatment. As a result of the EBPS review, a new five year term is proposed.

Requests for a legislative (public statement) hearing must be sent in writing to the DEC contact person below by the comment deadline. The Department assesses such requests pursuant to 6 NYCRR Section 621.8.
