Project Description:

The applicant is proposing to repair the existing deteriorating timber bulkhead with steel sheet piling along the Rondout Creek (DEC Water Index ID No. H-139, Class C, and considered navigable). There are approximately 0.33 acres of disturbances proposed, including the installation of 650 linear feet of steel sheet piling, and approximately 90 cubic yards of fill below mean high water (all fill is to be placed landward of the sheet piling). Sheet piling is to be installed as close as possible to the existing bulkhead, with a maximum waterward extension of 12 inches (the thickness of the sheet piling). Other disturbances include the installation of concrete anchors and tie rods. Sheet piling installation is proposed through vibratory methods, and work is to be completed by machinery either on land, or floating barge (if necessary).
