Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has determined that site ID # 709013, known as the Camp Pharsalia site, may be deleted from the New York State Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites. This site is located within the Camp Pharsalia Incarceration Facility in the Town of Pharsalia within the County of Chenango, and is located at 496 Center Road. Comments regarding this action must be submitted no later than March 26, 2021. Negative Declaration

Cayuga County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Carpenter Falls Unique Area Public Access Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the improvement of public access to the Carpenter Falls Unique Area. Phase I of the action improves viewing access to the Upper Carpenter Falls for people with mobility issues and families by: a) creating an improved parking area for 20 cars, b) creating an access ramp, foot bridge and boardwalk which connect the parking lot to an Upper Falls viewing platform, and c) creating stone steps connecting the boardwalk to a viewing area at the bottom of the Upper Falls. The proposed access ramp is 55 foot long by 6 foot wide, the wood bridge is 20 foot long by 6 foot wide, the boardwalk from the wood bridge to the viewing platform is 620 foot long by 6 foot wide, the viewing platform is 12 foot by 16 foot The stone steps to the viewing area at the bottom of the Upper Falls will be approximately 250 foot long by 3 foot wide.

Phase II of the project proposes to repair and improve the existing foot trail footprint connecting the Carpenter Falls Unique Area to the Bahar Preserve, and create a series of steps to provide access to the Lower Falls.

The project is located in the Town of Niles, New York.

Positive Declaration

Onondaga County - The Village of Fayetteville Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Mixed Use Commercial Development may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a request by the applicant, Laker Development NY LLC/Millstone Development Group LLC, for a Site Plan, Subdivision, and Special Use Permit approvals and Variances to construct three commercial buildings with a combined footprint of approximately 96,000 square foot on a currently vacant lot formerly used commercially by O'Brien & Gere and Accurate Tool & Die. This site location is zoned half Industrial and half R-1 (residential one family). The concept plan includes subdividing the parcel into four lots: Industrial zoned portion into three lots for a grocer, a memory care assisted living facility and a smaller outparcel for potential retail/medical office use, and the fourth lot would be the Residential zoned portion of the property. The project is located at 547 East Genesee Street in the Village of Fayetteville, Town of Manlius, New York.
