Project Description:

Remove entire bulkhead along the Great South Bay and Fleming Canal, and replace, in place, raising it 18 inches above existing bulkhead. In addition, close-off natural bottom ramp on Great South Bay by removing landward bulkhead, adding 17 linear feet of new bulkhead and approximately 19 cubic yards of fill. Enlarge boat slip on Fleming Canal by 10 feet in width yielding a boat slip that will be 25 ' w x 41' l. The project is located at 130 Lebrun Avenue, Village of Amityville, Suffolk County, SCTM# 101-13-9-24 on both the Great South Bay and Fleming Canal.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to reconstruct approximately 79 linear feet of non-functional bulkhead seaward of mean high water, in the same location as the previously-existing bulkhead, 18 inches higher, along the Little Neck Creek. In addition, the applicant proposes to dredge a 79'x10' area along the bulkhead, construct a 5'x80' boardwalk landward of the bulkhead, and replace five existing mooring pilings. The purpose of the project is to stabilize the shoreline and public road-end. It will result in filling approx. 120 sf of tidal wetland area known as littoral zone in a bulkheaded canal. The proposed project is located at 881 S Walnut St, Village of Lindenhurst, Suffolk County, SCTM #103-23-3-58.
