Shandaken SPDES Semi-Annual Meeting

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is pleased to announce that the next semi-annual public meeting, held per the Shandaken SPDES permit, will be on Thursday, February 25th at 10:00 a.m. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of activities conducted pursuant to the SPDES permit. Due to the Corona virus pandemic, this meeting will be held remotely. Participants may join by phone by calling (347) 921-5612, Conference ID: 883 484 520#.

The meeting is open to the public and public input is welcome.

Negative Declaration

Albany County - The Town of Knox Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Knox Solar will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a 4.4 MW ground-mounted solar energy facility, access road and security and utility infrastructure. Upon completion, the proposed project will provide renewable power to the existing electrical grid via an interconnection point at 1716 Thompsons Lake Road. The project is located at 1716 Thompsons Lake Road in East Berne, Town of Knox, New York.

Rensselaer County - The Town of Schaghticoke Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed West Wind Farms Solar Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the approval to construct a 3.5 megawatt direct current and 2.85 megawatt alternative current solar electrical facility at 141 Verbeck Avenue in the Town of Schaghticoke, New York.

Positive Declaration and Availability of Draft Scope

Albany County - The City of Cohoes Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Erie Point Anchor Building may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The Draft Scope is available from the City of Cohoes City Hall, 97 Mohawk Street, Cohoes, NY 12047 and on line at: https://www.ci.cohoes.ny.us/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_02082021-700?packet=true.

The action involves a proposal by the applicant for the redevelopment of 1.04 ± acres of land at 178-182 Ontario Street (the site of the old Golden Crust bakery). The development will consist of a three-story building, housing 36 affordable apartment units. The project also includes a 34 stall off-street parking lot, a playground and green space totaling approximately 6,700 square foot, a connection to municipal sewer and water lines, and improved streetscape elements. The project is located at 178 to 182 Ontario Street in the City of Cohoes, New York.
