Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install large rock riprap toe protection immediately in front of an existing rock riprap breakwall, encompassing a total of 135 linear feet of Chautauqua Lake shoreline. A silt curtain will be installed around the work area to prevent turbid waters from entering Chautauqua Lake. Approximately 30 cubic yards of lakebed material will be excavated for toe placement, dewatered on-site and removed from the site. The project is located at the facility address listed above.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve an application to install a perimeter fence on the approach end of Runway 10L at the Niagara Falls International Airport. The fence will be approximately 7,712 linear feet in length and 6 feet in height. Also included is removal of some vegetation. Securing the property will ensure public safety and aid in airport operations. This installation will be within NYS Freshwater Wetland TW-1 and its regulated 100-foot-wide Adjacent Area. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. as such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of an activity for which a permit is sought.

Project Description:

The Department has received and made a tentative determination to approve an application for removal of a small, deteriorated dam on Wiscoy Creek, a Class B stream, and replace it with a rock riffle. The proposed rock riffle will provide grade stabilization, allow for the passage of fish and maintain the pool located downstream of the dam. The upper portions of the banks will also be stabilized with heavy rip rap. A total of 925 cubic yards of stone material will be placed below the mean high water elevation to construct the rock riffle and stabilize the banks and 750 cubic yards of concrete (2 dam spillways) will be removed from below the mean high water level. The entire existing dam structure will be removed. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
