Project Description:

The applicant is proposing excavation and the placement of fill below the Mean High Water Level of Oneida Lake associated with the installation of an erosion protection structure along the shoreline. The proposed work includes grading back the existing vertical face of the shoreline, and installation of 198 linear feet of rock rip rap along natural shoreline contours. The project is located approximately 825 feet west of the intersection of NYS Route 31 and Stephens Road.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

An existing sand and gravel mine propose to withdraw water from on-site ponds at a rate of 1,200,000 gallons per day for a gravel wash plant. Clean water from a source pond is pumped to two wash plants where screens classify the fine and coarse aggregates. The screened sand from the wash plants is conveyed to cyclones and dewatering screens. The silt-laden wash water is then discharged to a settling pond system. The cleaned water in the settling pond system returns to the wash plants and is recirculated.
