Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct an addition to an existing dwelling within the 100 foot adjacent area of a NYS regulated freshwater wetland (FWW# GP-25). Project Description:

Applicant proposes to install shoreline stabilization structures composed of a stone breakwater, clean fill, native plantings and a rock-cored dune covered with clean sand. The stone breakwater is proposed 20' seaward of mean high water in a tidal wetlands area designated as littoral zone (LZ), and involves the addition of 168 cubic yards of clean, upland sand within the LZ. An additional 82 cubic yards of sand is proposed in the tidal wetlands adjacent area to create the rock-cored dune. The property is on the north side of Dune Road on Moriches Bay. The purpose of the project is shoreline stabilization. The project is proposed at 620 Dune Road, Westhampton Beach, Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, SCTM# 900-391-1-37.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and maps have been checked. The proposed activity is not in an area of identified archaeological sensitivity and no known registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified or documented for the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
