Stabilization of 150-linear feet of bank behind an existing residence along the West Canada Creek in the Town of Russia, Herkimer County. Placement of heavy stone along the bank and bed of the stream will result in 150 cubic yards of fill below the mean high-water mark of West Canada Creek.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to modify an existing Mined Land Reclamation permit to eliminate the 30 day mining period, and to change the mining period from March 21st through June 21st to March 21st through October 21st. The modification will extend the current extraction and crushing activities from a 30 day period in the Spring (March 21st to June 21st) to anytime within the hours of operation between March 21st-October 21st. Extraction methods include drilling, blasting, and mechanical extraction.
