Tree Cutting Notice for Cranberry Lake Campground Water System Improvements

The project involves the cutting and removal of 43 trees 3 inches or larger diameter at breast height (DBH) and an estimated 523 trees less than 3 inches DBH as part of the Water System Improvement project. It has been determined that this project is necessary for health and safety purposes. A tree cutting list, site plans and work plan have been prepared and approved. This project is listed in proposed management actions in the approved 2016 Cranberry Lake Public Campground Unit Management Plan and the approved 1990 Final Generic Unit Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement for Campgrounds and Day Use Areas. The proposed tree cutting is in compliance with Lands and Forests Policy # 91-2 on Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees and Other Vegetation on Forest Preserve Lands. The project is located at Cranberry Lake Campground in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County, New York.

Negative Declaration

Herkimer County - The Village of Herkimer, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hydraulic Canal Improvement Project Phase 5, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 800 linear feet of 71 inch by 103 inch diameter storm pipe from the existing storm pipe on Eastern Avenue to Smith Street and Steele Street to the Railroad. The canal will be filled in and covered with topsoil and seeded. This project is Phase 5 of the Hydraulic Canal Improvement Plan.

The project is located in the Village of Herkimer, Herkimer County, New York.
