SPRTK - Register for Notifications

Sign Up to Receive Sewage Discharge Notifications

Sign up to receive sewage spill notifications directly to your phone, email or via text message by signing up for NY-Alert. Follow the quick instructions for new or existing NY-Alert users, or view the videos and documents for step by step instructions to create a NY-Alert account and customize your account to receive sewage spill notifications.

Quick Sign-Up Instructions

New Users:

  1. Go to the NY-Alert website. (link leaves DEC's website)
  2. Click on "Enroll"
  3. Provide a username, password, and security information.
  4. Enter your name.
  5. Chose how you would like to receive your notifications.
  6. Enter the required information to receive notifications.
  7. Enter your address.
  8. Click "Go".
  9. Select "Environmental" from the Category Type list.
  10. Confirm you are not a robot and click the checkbox.
  11. Click "Submit".

Existing Users:

  1. Go to the NY-Alert website. (link leaves DEC's website)
  2. Click on "Log In"
  3. Enter your Credentials.
  4. Click "Submit"
  5. Click "Add Set" under "Custom Warning Set"
  6. Enter a name for your new Custom Warning Set.
  7. Indicate when you want to receive alerts by selecting the desired notification schedule.
  8. Select "Environmental" for the Category of alerts.
  9. From the list of saved locations, check the locations you wish to receive notifications for.
  10. Click Save.
