Camp Santanoni Winter Weekends https://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/94034.html Contact Region 5 Headquarters 518-897-1200Enjoy winter recreation and exclusive winter access to the preserved buildings of Camp Santanoni. Embark on a 9.8-mile round trip cross-country ski or snowshoe along Newcomb Lake Road from the Gate Lodge Complex to the lakeside Main Camp Complex. Visit both the Gate Lodge and Main Lodge of Camp Santanoni, take interpretive tours with Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) volunteers, and warm up in the Artist's Studio. The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry's (SUNY ESF) Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC) provides snowshoes free of charge to visitors at the Gate Lodge. These events are hosted by DEC, AARCH, the town of Newcomb, and the SUNY ESF AIC.

But what are the costs when you don’t maintain your trees? Like all community infrastructure, trees require care and maintenance to provide their maximum benefits.
Dr. Jess Vogt of DePaul University and the Lab for Urban Forestry in the Anthropocene will talk about the costs of maintaining and not maintaining your urban trees.

Join us on this guided walk as we search for migrating ducks, geese, and salamanders.
We welcome those who have any type of physical challenge to all our programs. If you call ahead to let us know your needs, we will be happy to learn how we can serve you.

No registration required.

You’ll get to twirl a brace and bit, pound a spile, inspect the sap flow, and enjoy the aroma of sap boiling in our evaporator. A local maple producer will be on site to answer questions and offer a variety of maple products for sale.
