The plan guides the future uses and management of nearly 6,700 acres of DEC-managed public lands within the East of Hudson Unit in the towns of Amenia, Beekman, Carmel, Cortlandt, Dover, Kent, LaGrange, Milan, Pawling, Philipstown, Pine Plains, Pleasant Valley, Putnam Valley, Stanford, and Union Vale.

DEC is holding an availability session and public meeting on Nov. 22 at the Town of Kent Courthouse, 25 Sybils Crossing, Carmel NY 12512.

DEC staff will be available from 5 to 6 P.M. to talk one-on-one and answer questions. Starting at 6 P.M., a public presentation on the draft plan will be given, followed by time for public comments.

Public comments on the proposed management plan will be accepted until December 22, 2022 by mail to DEC Division of Lands and Forests, 21 South Putt Corners Rd. New Paltz, NY 12561, and by email to R3.UMP@dec.ny.gov.

DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application and Draft Remedial Investigation Work Plan for a site known as Former Fiedler Waterproofing & Masonry Site, site ID #C203160. This site is located in the Borough of Bronx within the County of Bronx, and is located at 91 Bruckner Boulevard. Public comments about the application must be submitted by November 25, 2022.

Flock into the world of turkeys, turkey vultures, and even turkey tail fungus in this family adventure.

We welcome those who have any type of physical challenge to all our programs. If you call ahead to let us know your needs, we will be happy to learn how we can serve you.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Registration is required for ALL programs unless otherwise indicated; call 716-683-5959 to register. 
  • If you call outside of normal business hours, you will receive a call confirming your registration or waitlist status. PLEASE SPEAK CLEARLY when leaving your name and phone number as our system does not have caller ID. Unless you receive a callback, you are not registered. 
  • Registration is limited to two programs/month. If you want to sign up for additional programs, you will be added to the waitlist. No limit for virtual programs.
  • Social distancing and mask protocols are subject to change with current COVID guidelines.
  • If you or a family member feels ill, is waiting for COVID test results or have COVID symptoms, please stay at home.
  • In case of poor weather, programs may be cancelled.
  • We cannot accommodate organized youth/civic groups at these programs. Please call to make other arrangements.
