https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/27123.html
Contact  Walter Burak
walter.burak@dec.ny.gov / phone: (631) 444-0283

The Town of Brookhaven is co-sponsoring this saltwater clinic. As summer winds down, come out and join us for some snapper fishing and crabbing.  Loaner rods and free fishing bait will be provided. This clinic will focus on both snapper fishing & crab fishing techniques, fish biology, and stewardship. Crabbing participants are encouraged to bring an uncooked package of chicken (drumsticks/legs work well), as event supply may be limited. Important items to bring: string, crab net, crab trap, and a bucket. Anglers may certainly bring their own saltwater fishing gear. There will be limited crab traps and nets to borrow if needed.

Location: Corey Beach Fishing Pier, Blue Point, NY 11715

Directions: I-495 (LIE) exit 62. Nicolls Road south to end. Left onto Montauk Hwy. Right onto Atlantic Avenue. Right onto Middle Road. Left onto Corey Ave. Continue to end, turn right on Curtis Road to the end parking lot.

* Special note for hunters: most hunting zones do not align with DEC's regional boundaries, so you won't find hunting seasons listed in the regional calendars. Use the statewide calendar instead.

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
