Camp Santanoni Winter Weekends https://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/94034.html Contact Region 5 Headquarters 518-897-1200Enjoy winter recreation and exclusive winter access to the preserved buildings of Camp Santanoni. Embark on a 9.8-mile round trip cross-country ski or snowshoe along Newcomb Lake Road from the Gate Lodge Complex to the lakeside Main Camp Complex. Visit both the Gate Lodge and Main Lodge of Camp Santanoni, take interpretive tours with Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) volunteers, and warm up in the Artist's Studio. The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry's (SUNY ESF) Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC) provides snowshoes free of charge to visitors at the Gate Lodge. These events are hosted by DEC, AARCH, the town of Newcomb, and the SUNY ESF AIC.

Description: DEC Proposes Regulations to incorporate provisions of the Federal universal waste regulations relating to aerosol cans into the State’s universal waste regulations. This rulemaking will also amend DEC’s universal waste regulations to include provisions to allow hazardous waste paint, including postconsumer paint, to be managed as a universal waste in the State.

The New York State Shellfish Restoration Council (SRC) meeting will cover 1) the progress made to develop the state's first marine shellfish restoration plan and 2) updates on ongoing shellfish restoration projects throughout the state. The primary purpose of this meeting is for council members to deliberate on:
There will be opportunities for public questions and comments during the meeting. Since the last SRC meeting (June 7, 2022), the plan's Steering Committee, Mapping Committee, Communications Committee, and four topic-specific workgroups have developed the foundational elements of the plan and several related decision support tools. This process has been facilitated by The Pew Charitable Trusts (link leaves DEC website) and Due East Partners (link leaves DEC website).
