Tune in as we look at live macro-invertebrates and glass eels that are in the tributaries of the Hudson River.
From the spineless caddisfly larvae to the slimy glass eels, there are incredible living creatures all around us who are just as excited for the change in season as you!

The Draft Watercraft Decontamination Facilities Amendment to the Generic Unit Management Plan for Campgrounds and Day-Use Areas (UMP) is available for public comment. The amendment accommodates the construction of buildings to house watercraft decontamination equipment for invasive species management. The amendment will guide siting, construction and management of decontamination equipment storage buildings within the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Campgrounds and Day-Use Areas.
Public comments on the draft amendment will be accepted through April 2, 2022 , and can be submitted by mail or email to: Josh Houghton, NYSDEC Bureau of Recreation, 625 Broadway 3rd Floor, Albany, NY 12233-5253, Email: campinfo@dec.ny.gov .

This will be an indoor presentation followed by an outdoor pond study.
We welcome those who have any type of physical challenge to all our programs. If you call ahead to let us know your needs, we will be happy to learn how we can serve you.

This learn-to-fish day is held at the Belmont Lake State Park (link leaves DEC website ) in West Babylon, Suffolk County and is sponsored by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation I FISH NY program. In addition to learning how to fish, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics, aquatic ecology, and more! Rods & reels and bait will be available free of charge. No freshwater fishing license is required, but all other statewide fishing regulations remain in effect. Please note there is an $8 parking fee (free with the Empire Pass).
