Notice is hereby given that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) filed a Notice of Proposed Rule Making with the New York State Department of State to adopt prohibitions on hydrofluorocarbon substances previously in place at the national level by the USEPA. The goal of this proposed rule is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of hydrofluorocarbons as refrigerants, aerosol propellants, and foam-blowing agents, where safe alternatives are available.

Public Comment on the Proposed Rule Making
Written comments on the proposed rule may be submitted until 5 p.m. on March 16, 2020 by mail to Suzanne Hagell, NYS DEC Office of Climate Change, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY 12233-1030 or emailed to climatechange@dec.ny.gov. Include “Comments on Part 494 HFC” in the subject line of the email.

NYSDEC will host a public availability session to provide information on a recently completed habitat management plan for Honeoye Inlet Wildlife Management Area (WMA), located in the towns of Canadice, Naples, Richmond, and South Bristol in Ontario County, and the Town of Springwater in Livingston County. 

Come join us to learn about the goals of the plan and future habitat management at this WMA. The meeting will include a presentation and time for questions. The open house will begin at 6:30 PM and the presentation at 7:00 PM.
