Description: Comment End -DEC has released the Draft Division of Materials Management Program Policy 5 - Management of Soils Contaminated with Technologically-Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (DMM-5) for a 60-day public comment period. DMM-5 identifies the process and criteria to be used to evaluate Technologically-Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (TENORM) or fill and provides guidelines to DEC program staff, property owners, project sponsors and the public on how to appropriately handle identified or suspected TENORM material or fill encountered during construction or earthwork projects. Comments can be submitted by email to Regs.Radiation@dec.ny.gov. Please include "Comments on Draft DMM-5" in the subject line of the email.

Participate in a free Beginner's Fishing Clinic hosted by NYSDEC at Pat Auletta Steeplechase Pier in Brooklyn, Kings County on Tuesday, 9/5 from 12 - 2 PM. In addition to casting a rod and catching fish, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics, aquatic ecology, and more! No freshwater fishing license is required during the event, and all equipment and bait will be provided for free.

Space is limited (first come, first served). Email for more information and weather related updates.
