DEC Climate Justice Working Group to Meet
 
What: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) 13-member Climate Justice Working Group (CJWG), established under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), will hold a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023. The Climate Justice Working Group is tasked with establishing criteria for identifying Disadvantaged Communities for the purposes of co-pollutant reductions, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, regulatory impact statements, and the allocation of investments pursuant to the CLCPA.   

This meeting will include continued deliberations on the public comments received on the draft Disadvantaged Communities’ criteria. Members of the public are welcome to attend in person or listen to the meeting via webcast. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and can be done by clicking the WebEx link below. Additional meetings for the month of February will be announced soon.

Notice of Pre-Proposal Webinar

Update to Part 494 Hydrofluorocarbon Standards and Reporting

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will host an informational webinar to provide the public the opportunity to learn and ask questions about the rulemaking to update to 6 NYCRR Part 494, “Hydrofluorocarbon Standards and Reporting.”  The goal of the updated regulation will be to further reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions from refrigerants, foams, and aerosol propellants per the recommendations of the climate change Scoping Plan and following the requirements of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Chapter 106 of the Laws of 2019).
