DEC has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) major amendment application for a site known as Post Road Corridor - White Plains, site ID #C360129. This site is located in the City of White Plains, within the County of Westchester, and is located at 77 West Post Road. Public comments about the application must be submitted by February 3, 2023.

DEC invites the public to comment about a draft plan to investigate contamination related to the 210 Douglass Street site #C224316 (Brooklyn, Kings County) within New York's Brownfield Cleanup Program. Public comments about the draft plan will be accepted through February 3, 2023.

Learn how to make maple syrup at home in time for the sap run. Spend an hour with a Friends naturalist learning how to identify a maple tree, tap a spile, and collect sap. View one method for evaporating sap to syrup at home and ask questions before leaving with a spile and a smile. Preregistration is required. Visit FriendsofFiveRivers.org and look under the “Education Programs tab for more information or to register.

For: Individuals, families, friends (6 people maximum per session)

When: Mondays, January 23 or 30 or February 6 or 13 at 12:00 PM or 2:00 PM; or Fridays, January 27, February 3 or 17 at 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM

Where: Meet at Five Rivers’ Guided School Program Building

Fee: Friends members = $15/individual or $20/family; Non-members = $20 + $5/each additional participant (fee includes spile and reference booklet)
