The DEC Urban and Community Forestry (UCF) Program will be holding a grant information session November 9, 2022, from 9-11:30 a.m. Up to $350,000 will be available for Tree Planting in Disadvantaged Communities* after Ash Loss, which is expected to be open in December 2022. The information session will cover an overview of the grant, discussion of specific application questions, and provide an opportunity for potential applicants to ask questions.

Eligible applicants include: New York State government entities, Indian nations or tribes, and 501(c)(3) not-for-profit (NFP) corporations.

This is a unique UCF grant opportunity not to be confused with the ongoing rounds of DEC UCF grants, which will next be released in early 2023.

*Disadvantaged communities maps can be found in the DECinfo Locator https://gisservices.dec.ny.gov/gis/dil/ under Public Involvement. Check the first two boxes for PEJAs and DACs.

Registration is free but required in advance: https://meetny.webex.com/meetny/j.php?RGID=r6de5da0c7bb104da6632d3879c6cb469

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.
