Join wildlife staff as they go live from the field in the early morning (likely between 5:30 and 6:30 AM) while attempting to capture and band ducks in Saratoga County. Every year, DEC staff capture and band approximately 8,000 migratory game birds to monitor their populations. Assuming the ducks cooperate, we will be airing this livestream in two segments—the first will feature our team attempting to capture ducks using a rocket net. Then, we will return shortly thereafter to show our biologists recording and banding the birds.

Grab a cup of your morning coffee or tea and tune in for some early morning bird research!

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
