Marvelous Migrations
Tuesday–Thursday, June 28–30, 8:45 AM–4:00 PM daily

Co-hosted by Five Rivers Environmental Education Center (Delmar)
and Norrie Point Environmental Education Center (Staatsburg)

Join us this summer for DEC’s Teachers on the Estuary and Living Environment Institute as we explore migrations on land, water, and air. For three days, educators will take a deeper dive and discover a variety of species in motion, including where they live and where they go.
As field scientists, we’ll explore the forests at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center; the wetland habitats of Stockport Creek (by canoe); and the estuary waters at Norrie Point Environmental Education Center. Participants will gain a wealth of knowledge, ideas, standards-based curriculum, and activities to bring back to their classrooms or education facilities.

Join DEC Educator, Chris Bowser, live, as he sails the Hudson on the Sloop Clearwater. They will be casting fishing nets and he'll discuss all of the cool creatures they catch, before releasing them back to the water.

This calendar provides a listing of all DEC-sponsored events that are open to the public. You can click on any event in the calendar to view additional details about the event. Note that the events at environmental education centers will only display in the region in which they are located, even though they serve residents from adjacent areas. We welcome people with disabilities to all of our programs. Please call the contact number ahead of time to let us know your specific needs and we will be happy to learn how we can best serve you.

We would appreciate receiving feedback from our users. Please let us know if you encounter any difficulties viewing or using this calendar by sending an email to the DEC webmaster.
