Join NYS ReLeaf’s Central NY chapter (Region 7) for a soil science workshop! Healthy soils provide essential functions to the urban forest environment. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn about urban forestry from two renowned experts of soil science. This will be an on-site, field event and attendees will rotate through a series of interactive stations, including:

    Introduction to Soils

    Strategies for Remediating Compromised Soils in the Urban Environment

    Impacts to Tree Health as a Result of Compacted Soils

    Measuring Compacted Soils

    Value of Soil Texture and Drainage Characteristics

    Influences of Soil pH on the Urban Forest

    Soils Management During Construction Activity
